A Licensed Massage Therapist for more than 20 years, Lisa Nelson LMT/CMLD is known for diagnostic-specific massage therapy programs that utilize innovative and proven techniques. Prior to opening her own practice in Sarasota in 2008, Lisa accumulated 8 years of extensive clinical experience at Advanced Physical Therapy in Anchorage, AK, using the methods of the renowned International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine. In this position, she served on a multidisciplinary team that included pain fellowship trained anesthesiologists, a psychologist, and physical therapists. Lisa’s duties included developing specific patient tissue treatment programs, performing Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) on pre- and post-operative patients (both orthopedic and cancer related), and developing a relaxation skills program for patients.
Over the years, Lisa’s knowledge and personable approach have earned her a reputation for listening to patients and helping them to gain the skills that they need to recover and sustain long-term health.
